Tiong Bahru Bakery

Tiong Bahru Bakery, a name that is often mentioned when we think of pastries and tarts. I was there again on Wednesday for brunch with a friend. We initially wanted to go to the outlet at Tiong Bahru, but due to the unpredictable weather, we decided to go to the Raffles City outlet instead.

Their croissant never disappointed me despite the fact that this is only the 2nd time I am there. Even though some of the pastries looked simple, but it tasted better than a few other places.

I felt that the pricing is still acceptable, we spent $17 per person. I might visit the Tiong Bahru outlet soon.

Incredibly delicious strawberry tart

Incredibly delicious strawberry tart

As a berry lover, the strawberry tart seems to be the most appealing thing there, bursting with vibrant colors. With a buttery tart base like a shortbread cookie and alluring angelic strawberries. However, I felt that the blackberry is a tad too bitter.

Fluffy almond custard croissant filled with luscious custard

Raisin Roll

The Raisin Roll was alright, with crispy external, moist interior and oh so sweet raisins. I personally preferred the raisin roll to the almond custard croissant.

Raspberry tart

The raspberry tart is not up to my expectations, the crust is a little too hard, I would not order this again.

Plain croissant

Their plain croissant is so good you can eat it on it’s on own, one of the best croissants I have tried. It is not too oily or soft. If you enjoy eating good butter croissants, crisp and well flaky, this is for you. One of the must-try!

Round lemon tart

Their round lemon tart is also not to my liking. Probably I’m not a fan of lemons, but my friend, a lemon lover, did not finish this tart too. We will not order this again.
