Au Chocolat at Marina Bay Sands

My friend mentioned about Au Chocolat and how special the place was, so I decided that I had to try the food at this place! Located at level 1 of Marina Bay Sands, just above the ice skating rink, Au Chocolat is a French-inspired confectionery and bistro. My friend and I decided to have our late lunch there. We arrived there a little later than 3pm and the place was almost packed.

The retail confectionery store sells all sorts of delicious snacks such as slice cakes, cupcakes, macarons, truffle and other merchandise.

The interior of the bistro was beautifully themed, I love the ceiling, lights and the train on the railway track  above us. Perfect for brunch, girls’ night out, chilling out, high tea or friends gathering. However, I felt that the food is a little pricey. We spent $60 per person.

beautifully designed ceiling, notice the railway track that hangs just below it.

The train was stationary when we were there.

Choc-A-Bloc Tower cake at $18, drizzled with rich chocolate sauce & vanilla ice cream. Good for 4 person & above.

The Crispy Duck Confit came with mashed potato, white wine poached pear and drizzled with tangy chocolate orange sauce. (Definitely one of the must-try dishes when you are dining at Au Chocolat!) The duck skin was unbelievably crispy and the flesh inside was warm and tender.

Mocha Pork Ribs, completely marinated and coated with a sinful combination of dark chocolate and gourmet coffee sauce. Finger-licking good!

Berry Tea!

South Coast Bistro and Bar

Our Girls’ Night Out was at South Coast last night. Recommended by my friend’s colleagues, we decided to check out the place, located at Marina Bay Sands.

We took quite a while to find the place, as it was our first time there, we were not very good with the directions.. (>_<) When we finally found the place, it started to rain heavily. It was situated right opposite the Louis Vuitton flagship store,  5 – 10 mins walk from Bay front Mrt Station.. As we did not do any pre-booking, all the seats were reserved, the only available seats were the counter seats where the counter tops are quite narrow and not suitable for our meals. However, the service crew were all very nice to us, one of the crew (I presume must be the manager), asked us whether we would like to sit at the counter for a little while and have some drinks first, he said he will find us a table as soon as one is available. We sat at the counter with our drinks for about 45mins, till they found a table for us. The ambience was great too, suitable for friends to chill after work.

I would recommend this place for Lunch, Dinner, Gathering, Boys Night Out, Girls Night Out, After Work, View/Scenery, Alfresco/Outdoor Dining.

We spent $38 each person.

At the Bar top counter.. I’m loving the light decor!

Enough said. Here’s our Dinner!

Meat Pizza! Delicious for me personally. However, my friends didnt really like the meat as they think its too salty.

Meat Pizza! Delicious for me personally, because I’m a meat lover! However, my friends didnt really like the meat as they think its too salty.

From left to right: Risotto Balls (containing wild mushrooms), bread to go with the Oven baked Hummus

The Risotto mushroom balls tasted amazing. Creamy mushrooms piping hot on the inside, crispy on the outside. As for the Oven baked Hummus, it’s kind of special. Mashed chickpeas,  a very popular Middle Eastern dip/spread for bread. 🙂

Salmon fillet with baby potatoes! Tasted good! Fish lovers must try.
