Tsukada Nojo – Collagen hotpot (美人锅)

I finally went to this Japanese restaurant for dinner after talking about it for so many weeks.

Tsukada Nojo –  Japanese Bijin Nabe Restaurant could be found at Level 3 of Plaza Singapura extension. The new wing features other additional shops and restaurants.

I heard from my colleagues that the restaurant opens for dinner at 5pm, however, when we reached around 430pm, a long queue had already been formed outside the restaurant. We initially wanted to try this restaurant during lunch time, however their collagen hotpot is only served during dinner. The hotpot itself is $25 per person, however, we ordered other dishes and dessert. Therefore, we spent about $37 per pax for this dinner.

My main purpose of trying this hotpot is because of its soup broth (collagen-rich pudding made from chicken bones). It takes about 2 minutes to melt the pudding down into bubbling golden-yellow broth in a clay pot.

After the pudding had completely melted into broth, the waitress helped us to roll the chicken meat into small meat balls from the bamboo.

Noodles included too

My friend felt that the soup is a little too salty, however I think that it is very rich and tasty.

Nikumaki onigiri – Riceballs wrapped with bacon. We ordered 1 original flavored and 1 cheese flavored. It’s a MUST TRY! Price range from $3-$3.50 per piece

We ended the dinner with desserts! Egg pudding (creme brulee) coated  with a perfect layer of crispy sweet caramel.

My Colleague and I tried out a Taiwan cafe today. The price is around $10~$15 (before discount). The restaurant is having a 40% off promotion during weekday lunch time  12noon – 4pm. They serve various authentic Taiwan dishes including Oyster Mee sua, Beef noodles & crispy chicken chop. We also bought bubble tea to compliment our meal!
